Changing the DNA

They say it takes 23 days to form a new habit. I will assume it will take roughly the same amount of time to kick one too.

The qore DNA of a philosophy is driven by conscious ideas and subconscious habits and inhibitions. In order to truly change the DNA of a philosophy... a full internal audit of habits, mannerisms and thoughts has to take place in an honest and objective way. Once thats done then maybe i can apply the new philosophy to everything else. Having a point of reference by observing the folks over here in San Francisco is the best thing. I can observe the mindsets and ethic that drives everyone's actions. Its a great thing.

So, with that said! onward to perpetual evolution and growth!

The end of an era... why do i feel sad?

Steve Jobs quit... dont have too much to say... i wasnt a fan of some of his decisions but you cannot deny the man's contribution to computing.

Preparing for Cinema 4D r13

Excited about the release of Cinema 4D r13. This release boasts robust character animation tools that have been a longtime coming. the release will boast a new "character object" which features an autorigging tool that boasts rigging support for bipeds and quadropeds as well as insects and birds. The feature also comes with what Maxon is calling "smart" weighting as well which theoretical should have a character rigged and skinned in a few minutes. This is also coupled with a procedural walk cycle tool that seems to have a robust keyframeless workflow. I am still not sure if you can breakdown the animation into keyframes in order to refine.... that'd be great.

They have also upped the game on the advanced renderer by including a new skin shader as well as a side physics based renderer for creating realistic renders. All these features are set to make them a very serious competitor outside of the motion graphic market.

I intend to start building assets for training as well to hit the ground running as soon as the official version goes live! I cant wait for the new power of r13 to be given to us! LOL!

Efficiency and Organisation

As the planning and meditation for the EMG evolution project continues, I find i am focused more on the issue of efficiency. Streamlining everything is the key to achieving vast and challenging plans quickly... otherwise we may need more lives than we have... and i dont believe in re-incarnation... so that leaves only a few options. Increase the efficiency and attempt to achieve the goals as soon as possible... or just roll over and DIE! 

The outcome of this philosophy will result in a mass cleansing of elements that waste time and energy. Items that fall under this category are:

-time wasters (or wastemen as my friend Kuda musasiwa calls them. these are those elements that take up so much of your time, hang out, ask for countless quotations, philosophizers who are perpetually idealistic and just users and parasites)

-bad habits (just the little things we are used to that must be weeded out of our characters)

-procrastination ( a chinese proverb once said... if you think about the step for too long... you will never begin the journey)

-middlemen (the talentless people who convince you of their relevance)

The main goal is to challenge ourselves to the best of our abilities... complacency is a desease we will continue detoxing ourselves from.

Preparing for the dreamforce live broadcast! so much planning is going into it and we are getting into production mode.

I am eager to see the speakers! the google and facebook top exes are coming to give some keynotes! too awesome.

EMG as a studio will definitely be undergoing evolution...

As the studio will begin its growth, forward planning is very important to manage the growth over the next few months. As we attempt to change the studio's blueprint, the qore DNA... planning will become one of the most essential parts of the process. 

Before all that, the thoughts have to be fermented and refined before they are passed on to the planning phase. I think this will become the most crucial stage in the process, especially taking into consideration the scale of work that the studio will be aiming to do. 

Consolidating all the experience that we have accumulated over time, all the mistakes we have made... both the good and bad events over the years will help consolidate the "rapid" plan.

This is the new stage of evolution... and we hope it will be the biggest one.
